The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), operating under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has issued a high-severity security alert targeting Apple device users across India. The advisory warns of multiple critical vulnerabilities affecting a range of Apple products, recommending immediate updates to prevent exploitation.

The alert, detailed in vulnerability note CIVN-2025-0071, outlines serious threats in older versions of Apple operating systems and applications. CERT-In cautions that the flaws could enable attackers to execute arbitrary code, bypass device security protocols, escalate user privileges, manipulate or exfiltrate data, and potentially carry out denial-of-service (DoS) or spoofing attacks.

The advisory applies to both individual users and enterprises using Apple systems. Devices running outdated versions of iOS, macOS, Safari, and other platforms are particularly vulnerable. Users are urged to apply the latest security patches made available by Apple to reduce the risk of cyber intrusions.

- Safari: Versions before 18.4

- Xcode: Versions before 16.3

- iOS: Versions before 18.4, 16.7.11, and 15.8.4

- iPadOS: Versions before 18.4, 17.7.6, 16.7.11, and 15.8.4

- macOS: Sequoia (prior to 15.4), Sonoma (prior to 14.7.5), Ventura (prior to 13.7.5)

- tvOS: Versions before 18.4

- visionOS: Versions before 2.4

CERT-In has highlighted the urgency for users to upgrade systems, particularly those who have not enabled automatic updates. The agency warns that failure to patch devices may expose users to unauthorized access, service disruption, or data loss.

To secure devices, users are advised to visit Apple’s official support page for detailed guidance on installing the latest software releases. Enabling automatic updates is also recommended for continuous protection against future threats.

Apple has released fixes addressing the reported vulnerabilities. Users are encouraged to act promptly to maintain system integrity and data security.
